Pizza Hut Indonesia introduces the new Pedas Nusantara series for Ramadan

The brand fused its traditional pizzas with local flavours rich in culture.

Pizza Hut Indonesia is commemorating the holy month of Ramadan by introducing its newest innovation, the Pedas Nusantara series.

According to the pizza brand, the new limited-time-only menu is a fusion of Indonesia’s local flavours with the international appeal of pizza.

Pizza Hut Indonesia introduces the Pedas Nusantara series to honour the significance of Ramadan in Indonesian households and celebrate the nation's culinary heritage. The term "Pedas" goes beyond its spicy connotation to encompass the colloquial notion of "mulut pedas," indicative of frank speech prevalent among Indonesians, particularly within familial dynamics. 

In recognising this cultural aspect, PHI aims to highlight the underlying care and affection embedded in such expressions, often rooted in genuine concern. Ramadan, a time of reflection, compassion, and forgiveness, serves as a poignant reminder for families to unite, reconcile, and fortify their relationships.

The Pedas Nusantara series features a tantalizing blend of sambal-infused dishes, paying homage to the diverse flavours of the Indonesian archipelago. Reflecting Indonesia's penchant for spicy cuisine, PHI is infusing several of its signature dishes with sambal, including QU4RTZA and L1MO Pizza, which will be topped with karaage chicken, cheese, and four distinct sambal varieties: sambal kemangi, sambal cabe ijo, sambal matah, and sambal bawang. 

Other highlights from the Pedas Nusantara series include Wingstreet Pedas, presenting succulent Wingstreet chicken paired with a choice of the four available sambal varieties. While Kenduri Pedas presents a savory ensemble of karaage chicken atop rice, divided into four sections, each adorned with different sambals, ideals for 2-4 people to share and enjoy. For those seeking a satisfying meal, a single-serving Paket Pedas Puas offers karaage chicken served with rice, lalapan, and a refreshing beverage, accompanied by a choice of sambal. 

Pizza Hut's Ristorante will also have the QU4RTZA Pedas Nusantara, Salmon Sambal Rice, and Sambal Fish and Chips, combining premium ingredients with the bold flavours of sambal. 

The new menu will also see the launch of new beverages the Es Kembang Gula and Es Mangga Kocok. 

To complement the Pedas Nusantara experience, PHI is also introducing a range of promotions during Ramadan. Amongst them is "Munggahan", featuring savory karaage chicken served atop a 1-meter bed of rice accompanied by four distinct sambals. This offer is available for groups of 8-10 dining in until March 10, 2024.

The Pedas Nusantara series will be available from 4 March to 28 April, across all Pizza Hut locations in Indonesia (Pizza Hut Indonesia Restaurants, Pizza Hut Delivery and Ristorante).
