Starbucks introduces new lemon-base frappe in Japan
The lemons where sourced from its premier lemon-producing region Setouchi.
Starbucks Japan has released its new summer drink: the Setouchi Lemon Cake Frappuccino.
The new limited edition drink is made from lemon peel sauce and milk topped with whipped cream, lemon-flavoured icing and pearl sugars to mimic the texture and flavour of lemon cakes.
According to Starbucks, 75% of the lemon raw materials were sourced from Setouchi, Japan’s premier lemon-producing region. Setouchi lemons are characterised by its high sugar content and gentle acidity.
The new drink is now available in Starbucks cafes in Japan.
