Subway brings back Costa Coffee to Singapore after three-year hiatus
The move is part of the chain’s latest campaign to get a larger share of breakfast.
Costa Coffee is now back in Singapore after a three-year hiatus, this time, as part of the menu at Subway’s 127 restaurants.
The sandwich giant announced a partnership with The Coca-Cola Company to bring the coffee chain back to the Lion City starting April 20.
The return of Costa Coffee also aligns with Subway’s #Talkofthemorning campaign, which aims to encourage Singaporeans to “lean into their love of coffee and breakfast as a driver of meaningful connections with one another.”
“Singapore’s growing fixation on coffee has led to a flourishing coffee culture, which is a big part of breakfast - arguably one of the most important meals of the day. Through Subway’s #Talkofthemorning campaign and the return of Costa Coffee, we hope to encourage Singaporeans to use breakfast as a time for reflection and planning, before the start of their busy days,” said Samad Mohd Shariff, Country Director, Subway, South East Asia.
As part of the campaign, Subway customers can get limited edition customised coffee sleeves with every purchase of Costa Coffee — available across all Subway restaurants starting May and until stocks last.
“Subway was the natural option for Costa Coffee to mark its return to Singapore. With a successful long-term partnership and a good grasp of the breakfast market, Subway knows what works. Through this strategic partnership we hope to delight coffee lovers in Singapore once again with our signature Mocha Italia flavour,” added Louis Balat, Chief Executive Officer of the Coca-Cola Bottling Investment Group for Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.
Through the Necta Kalea Machine, Subway said it can dispense close to 150 hot coffees per day.
