Hong Kong’s most considered brands revealed
McDonald’s reigns as the most considered across several categories.
McDonald’s is Hong Kong’s most considered brand, with a score of 52.7%, a survey by YouGov revealed.
Following behind the international fast-food chain is the Hong Kong-based chain, Café de Coral. The top five is rounded out by KFC, Starbucks, and Fairwood.
The survey also ranked chains by category. For male consumers, their top five are McDonald’s, Café de Coral, KFC, Fairwood, and Starbucks. For female consumers, their top five are McDonald’s, Starbucks, Café de Coral, KFC, and Fairwood.
Across generations, Gen Z love McDonald's, Tamjai SamGor, KFC, Tamjai Yunnan Mixian, and Starbucks. Millennials top picks are McDonald's, KFC, Café de Coral, Fairwood 29.6, and Starbucks.
Older generations like Gen X like McDonald's, Café de Coral, Starbucks, KFC, and Fairwood whilst Baby Boomers often go for McDonald's, Café de Coral, Fairwood, KFC, Maxim’s Fast Food/Maxim's MX.
The report also highlights doughnut brand Dough Bros as the most-improved QSR and casual dining brand, recording positive growth over the last 12 months, followed by Stargbucks, and Japanese chain Saizeriya.
The rankings are based on the YouGov BrandIndex data from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, drawn from a nationally representative Hong Kong online sample of more than 9,700 respondents, with brands required to have at least 183 days of tracked data to qualify for ranking.
