Singapore F&B sales jump 24.7% YoY in November
Fast-food outlets, cafes, foodcourts, and other eating places saw jumps in sales.
Singapore's food and beverage (F&B) sales grew at a slower pace in November, jumping 24.7% year-on-year (YoY) from a 36.9% YoY increase in October. Sales value clocked in at $928m.
Of the total sales value, 23.3% was from online sales.
According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), the higher growth in F&B sales was mainly due to the low base in November 2021, when dine-in restrictions were still in place, but also due to all industries posting a year-on-year increase in sales.
Amongst industries, Food Caterers recorded the largest increase, soaring 138.4% YoY, followed by Restaurants which saw a 22.9% jump in sales.
Sales of Cafes, Food Courts & Other Eating Places and Fast-food Outlets also rose in November by 14.9% and 20.0%, respectively.
