Deliveroo Hong Kong adds 100 virtual brands to platform
Delivery-only brands have helped lift restaurant revenues to an average of 85%.
Amidst business headwinds, Deliveroo in Hong Kong announced that it has partnered with an additional 100 virtual brands, doubling their current number of delivery-only brands on their platform.
Virtual brands allow food operators to introduce new cuisines under a new branding, exclusively on the delivery firm’s platform.
Deliveroo Hong Kong general manager Brian Lo said that the rate of restaurant closures has risen from 1.5% to 5% since January.
Virtual brands, he said, have helped Hong Kong restaurants raise their revenues to an average of 85%, higher than a 70% revenue lift to other restaurants launching the delivery-only brands on their platform across the world.
Little Bao, Stone Nullah Burgers and Wings and Caramba Mexican Cantina were amongst brands which have recently relaunched as virtual brands on Deliveroo’s platform, the delivery giant noted.
