Deliveroo Hong Kong launches catering services as COVID-19 restrictions ease
Users can select from 50 partners across the city.
Deliveroo has launched a new catering service in Hong Kong, expecting market demand to grow in the city due to easing of restrictions related to COVID-19.
The launch portfolio features 50 partners, consisting of existing restaurant partners as well as professional caterers not previously part of the platform.
Catering orders over HK$1,800 on specially-designed menus on the platform will be processed via Deliveroo’s van delivery service on customers’ chosen delivery dates and time slots. The service also enables customers to access restaurants not normally available in their zones as normal consumers, do multi-pick up and enable out-of-zone or even cross-harbour delivery.
Menu creation, event set up and servers can also be arranged by Deliveroo to address a wide range of catering needs.
Catering partners were also chosen for using eco-friendly packaging and reducing use of plastic where possible.
On average, catering partners are seeing a 50%-80% increase in total delivery sales through the addition of the new business, which was trialled in March.
“We’ve worked hard to ensure we have the right supply of restaurants, catering and drinks partners to ensure any foodie occasion in the office or with friends and family is done with caution and care. We hope that our customers, whether they are companies or individuals, will celebrate their special moments with us,” Deliveroo Hong Kong general manager Brian Lo said.
Deliveroo also hired its first-ever catering manager outside its headquarters in Hong Kong to facilitate the new catering services, regularly review the service, bring in new catering partners and improve selection for customers.
