KFC marketing and food leader reveals marketing challenges, shares menu innovation tips

The challenge is getting customers to look at the brand and coming back.

Grabbing consumers' attention was often the challenge that QSRs must face in the market, Juliana Lim, Senior Director of Marketing and Food Innovation of KFC Singapore told QSR Media during the QSR Media Asia Deliverect Conference & Awards.

The event features the top industry leaders in Asia's fast-food industry, gathered together for a day of information sharing and industry insight gathering.

"For me, the challenge is how do you get customers to look at KFC and how do you get consumers to come back to KFC," Juliana said.

QSR Media also asked Juliana how it creates a new menu. She describes Singapore as a food haven, with many arrays of food options so pinpointing exactly what new flavours would be a hit was difficult.

A great strategy was researching which trends or flavours are trending in the market. This enables a brand to create a new item based on these trends.
