Hong Kong restaurants offering plant-based dim sum for CNY

Modern China, Red House, Seansin Seafood Hotpot Experts and The Drunken Pot have partnered with the US-based alternative meat supplier Impossible Foods.

Hong Kong restaurants based in Causeway Bay have partnered with meat alternative supplier Impossible Foods in offering plant-based dim sum dishes in time for the Chinese New Year.

Modern China has introduced two vegan dim sums: the Impossible Dumplings Platter featuring pan-fried, soup and deep fried dumplings, and the Impossible Wontons in Spicy Pickled Vegetable Soup.

Three plant-based dumpling dishes are offered in Red House, including the Impossible Shanghai Spicy Dumpling.

A Cantonese-styled crispy dough stick is made vegan in Seansin Seafood Hotpot Experts. The hotpot store is also selling Impossible Spicy Dumplings and Stuffed Mushroom with plant-based meat.

The Drunken Pot’s new dim sum range features a Year-of-the-Rat-themed dumpling made with vegan meat, along with the Impossible Vegetables Xiao Long Bao and Impossible Big Four Happiness made with plant-based meat, carrot, corn and stem lettuce.

Impossible Foods first forayed into the Asian market via Hong Kong.
