Subway Singapore drops new menu items inspired by Indian and Malay cuisine

The new menu will only be available until 30 May.

Subway Singapore has released new menu items inspired by Indian and Malay cuisine.

Subway’s Chicken Tandoori sub features tender chicken strips glazed in aromatic seasoning. Best paired with lettuce, cucumber and red onion for the perfect crunch, you can get creative and have it as a sub, salad or wrap with your own medley of vegetables and sauces.

Tandoori Chicken hails from Punjab, India and was popularised in the 1940s. Marinated in yoghurt and a spice blend that includes cayenne pepper, red chilli powder, garlic, ginger, onion and garam masala, the mouth-watering dish gets its name from the cylindrical clay oven it is cooked in. It’s a dish popular in Singapore, South Asia and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, in celebration of the Hari Raya Season, Subway Singapore brings its latest local-flavoured cookie to the table with the all-new Bandung cookie.

The cookie has a taste of rose syrup sweetness, similar to the favourite drink, consisting of condensed milk and rose syrup. A truly Singaporean flavour, Bandung has been served since the 20th century, especially during Iftar and at wedding receptions. It has now become a household drink found in many homes and restaurants.

“At Subway, we recognise the love Singaporeans have for local flavours and aim to continue delighting them through our menu innovations.  This time, with the Chicken Tandoori Subs and Bandung cookie we wanted to send guests on a gastronomic journey of familiar flavours from both the Indian and Malay cultures. We hope our fans continue to enjoy fresh, healthy and better-for-you delicious food options from Subway as we continue to present interesting and localised experiences to them,” Samad Mohd Shariff, Country Director, Subway, South East Asia said.

The Chicken Tandoori sub and Bandung cookie will be available at participating Subway Singapore restaurants and across delivery platforms GrabFood, FoodPanda and Deliveroo starting 1 April.
