AirAsia opens flagship Santan restaurant, cafe
The company aims to have 100 outlets within the next three to five years.
AirAsia’s in-flight menu brand has made its way to Malaysia’s restaurant scene.
The airline’s first flagship fast food joint, Santan Restaurant and T&CO Cafe, launched in Kuala Lumpur’s Mid Valley Megamall aimed to provide a variety of cuisines and coffee at affordable prices.
The restaurant and cafe features a smart menu equipped with artificial intelligence and machine Learning, enabling the concepts to recommend popular dishes based on time, past ordering patterns as well as demographic taste. Customers can also order directly from santan.com.my and the T&CO mobile app.
Items in the menu include Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak and Uncle Chin’s Chicken Rice on-ground, Pineapple Fish Noodle from Cambodia, Chicken Inasal with Garlic Rice from the Philippines and other snacks and desserts inspired by local flavours.
To celebrate the opening of the flagship restaurant, Santan is offering customers a limited-time promotion online to avail of Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang for a discounted rate.
“We have seen a significant appetite for our in-flight menu offerings beyond our flights across the region and this is our answer to that demand,” Santan Restaurant and T&CO Cafe general manager Catherine Goh said in a media release.
By end-2020, Goh says they aim to have five company-owned Santan restaurants and 100 franchisee-operated restaurants and cafes within the next three to five years.
