Burger King has swapped out french fries for crunchy ramen noodles amidst a potato shortage in Japan.
CBS News reported the chain’s restaurants have started selling what it is calling the "almost-potato set", which consists of a classic burger and the crunchy ramen noodles.
Burger King also considered boiled ramen, broiled squid, and apple pie as substitutes for the fries before deciding on crunchy ramen.
The chain, which has over 150 restaurants, separately announced upcoming restaurant openings in Osaka and Sapporo.
