8 in 10 Japanese want to take their restaurant leftovers home

1 in 2 said they want to use containers to take leftovers home if they are free.

80% of people in Japan want to take their leftovers at restaurants home according to a survey conducted by Kuradashi Co.

Kuradashi Co. is a Japanese social good company that operates an online marketplace focused on reducing food waste by selling surplus products at discounted prices.

52% of those surveyed want to use containers to take leftovers home if they are provided by the restaurants free of charge. 28.8% said they will use takeout containers even if they are not free.

14.5% said that they have never left food in restaurants.
