New platform reduces restaurant downtime on delivery apps
The new solution provides real-time alerts and auto-reopening.
Unnoticed downtime on delivery platforms is costing restaurants thousands in lost revenue, but many operators lack visibility into when their locations go offline. To tackle this issue, Deliverect has launched Pulse Sentinel, a real-time monitoring tool that detects downtime, alerts operators, and automatically reopens stores to ensure restaurants stay online and maximize revenue.
“Pulse Sentinel fills a blind spot with time monitoring, timely alerts, and automatic reopening of stores so that locations can stay online and open when they’re expected to be trading,” said Jeremy Van Dille, General Manager at Deliverect.
For restaurant brands with multiple locations, tracking downtime across various delivery platforms can be challenging. If a store goes offline without the operator knowing, potential sales are lost.
“Our data shows that restaurant brands with about 100 locations experience an average downtime of 5%, which results in 322 hours of downtime per week across all sites,” Van Dille revealed. “That equals about $50,000 in lost weekly revenue, simply because locations are unknowingly offline.”
According to Van Dille, every minute a store is unavailable translates to lost potential revenue. “Even if it’s a franchise model, you lose your royalties. But if it’s corporate-owned stores, it’s directly lost revenue, and you also create a bad experience for customers who expect to order food when the opening hours say you’re online,” he explained.
Deliverect’s Pulse Sentinel monitors multiple delivery platforms simultaneously, ensuring that if a store is active on one platform, it remains live on others to maintain consistent revenue streams.
Van Dille said that if all platforms show a store is offline due to an emergency, Pulse Sentinel does not automatically reopen it but instead sends instant notifications to HQ. “This allows HQ to contact the store manager and confirm the issue, ensuring that reopening is done appropriately,” Van Dille noted.
Currently, Pulse Sentinel is available in Australia and New Zealand, but Deliverect is eyeing expansion into Southeast Asia as demand grows.
