Tam Jai launches Storm Riders collab marketing campaign

The group is launching a series of activities in line with the theme.

Restaurant group Tam Jai International Co. Limited is title-sponsoring the Hong Kong comic martial arts dance drama “STORM CLOUDS”, a performance by the Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDance) based on the classic works of the renowned comics artist Mr Ma Wing-shing, Storm Riders.

The original Storm Riders (Fung Wan) is a Hong Kong comic series by Ma Wing-shing that follows Wind and Cloud, two martial artists caught in their master’s manipulative quest for power. The comic series was adapted into a film in 1998, renowned for its groundbreaking use of CGI.

After almost a decade, HKDance has collaborated again with the creator of this comic series, bringing the Hong Kong comic martial arts dance drama “STORM CLOUDS” to the stage of the Grand Theatre, Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon Cultural District in February 2025.

Apart from title sponsoring HKDance's “STORM CLOUDS” dance drama, Tam Jai will organise a series of themed activities between January and March, including launching limited-time mixian offerings, setting up themed cross-over stores and pop-up stores, offering an array of exclusive themed merchandise, and also a Hong Kong comic design contest, with the aim to promote local comic art culture and groom a new generation to keep the classics alive. The Group will also extend the promotional activities to the Mainland China market, launching themed limited-edition meal sets and merchandise, giving out Hong Kong travel packages and tickets to the “STORM CLOUDS” dance drama, allowing Mainland Chinese customers the chance to experience the unique culture and artistic vibe of Hong Kong in person.

“Through this cross-sector collaboration, Tam Jai hopes to tie our distinctive ‘Tam Jai Taste’ with the Hong Kong comic culture, allowing the public to appreciate and experience the charms of Hong Kong comics in various ways, thereby broadening the reach of the city’s unique vibe and classic art and injecting new vitality to the development of local art and culture,” Daren Lau, Chairman, Executive Director and CEO of TJI said.

As one of the leading restaurant groups in Hong Kong, TJI has rapidly expanded its network to over 240 stores across various markets, including Mainland China, Singapore, Japan and Australia.
